<image:caption>There are numerous tales about our cows and how they came into our care. Patch’s currently has 22 cows in residence. While their diet usually consists of grass, dry winters require extra feed in the way of hay and other supplements. They also require drenching and treatment for external pests such as ticks. The maintenance of fencing is also a crucial part of their well-being and safety.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Cats - Meet Bella</image:title>
<image:caption>Bella was bought as a kitten with her brother and sister on an impulse. Realising they didn't really want them, the owner then surrendered them to a carer. They stayed with the carer until adults but eventually the brother and sister were re-homed. Bella became very withdrawn and luckily we were able to take her and she quickly was accepted into our cat family. Now Bella and Toula are good friends and even snuggle up together.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Dogs</image:title>
<image:caption>Patch’s has provided a foster home for several unwanted working dogs. Ruby, Coco and Crystal are three of the lucky residents at Patch’s Sanctuary and we don’t know who is happier and luckier - them or us. The dogs at Patchs live in harmony with the other residents and are managed consciously, of course, to allow wildlife, including koalas, to also call Patch’s home.</image:caption>

<image:title>Hens - Chickens get to be themselves at Patchs.</image:title>
<image:caption>The egg industry is a major contributor to animal agriculture worldwide. Eggs are used in many processed foods and for many are a daily staple. Unfortunately, with this high demand, comes the battery cages. The life of a battery cage hen is approximately 12 months of age, even though they can lay eggs well past that. Many ex battery hens are now call Patch’s home.</image:caption>
